I am Jalena Kailyn Carlisle, an artist who believes that every being on this earth has the power to Kreate. Art is not about innate talent or technical skill—it’s about patience and passion.

The pieces in my first solo showcase, Better in Person, are a reflection of my artistic journey over the past eight years. Though I never formally pursued art through my education, I’m excited to share the depth of who I am beyond my academics and career.

This past year has been filled with many losses—losing a sport I love to unexpected injuries, losing beloved family members, and losing a part of myself that I thought I understood. But this Kreative explosion is a product of my patience and a journey back to art as an outlet for healing.

While my family was the driving force behind my athletic ambitions, it’s my art that has deepened my connection with them—and with myself. This collection is dedicated to the family that has given me love, safety, and the space to express my true self.

I also want to express my gratitude to the friends who have inspired my art or supported me in any way. Every person I’ve crossed paths with has left an imprint on the way I bring my Kreations to life.
